"The Mixed (Genre) Tape" by Jack's Mannequin

I've always been a huge of Jack's Mannequin since I saw them perform on one of my favorite shows, One Tree Hill. As I do with several of my covers, I decided to meld two genres, Reggae and pop punk. I really like the message of this tune!

"Follow Through" by Gavin DeGraw

I remember the moment I bought Gavin DeGraw's debut album, Chariot, and knew it was the start of a close relationship I would have with his music. I love the message of this song.

"How to Save a Life" by The Fray

I loved this song from the first time I heard it, 17 years ago! I remember thinking the drum part for this song was the hippest thing on the radio, so I decided to make the drum part the intro for the song. Enjoy!

"Baby, It's You" by JoJo

Along with being influenced by so many styles of music, I've always believed it was important to support female artists. JoJo (Joanna Levesque) is an incredible pop/neo-soul singer and I've always loved this tune. I decided to stretch the limits and make the song my own by using a  Guaguancó  groove instead of the one JoJo used. Enjoy!

"The Last Great American Dynasty" by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's album, Folklore, has had a huge influence on me. "The Last Great American Dynasty" was written about the life of Rebekah Harkness, the woman who used to own Taylor's Rhode Island mansion. Like many of Taylor's songs, her choice of words transports you right into her world. Since I love emo music and see much of Taylor's style as emo, I decided to play this cover through a pop-punk lens.

"You and Me" by Lifehouse

I loved this song the moment it came out. I really like the message of this song! When I was growing up I always dreamed of being with someone I couldn't take my eyes off of, and I thank Lifehouse for that.

"Will the Wolf Survive?" by Los Lobos

I have been a big supporter of Los Lobos since I was a toddler. Los Lobos opened the door for me explore other genres of Latin music, such as Cumbia and Bachata.

"Sugar, We're Goin' Down" by Fall Out Boy

Flash back to 2005: it's my first day of fifth grade and I had just spent the whole summer listening to the album From Under the Cork Tree by Fall Out Boy. That band really helped me find my own voice. Check out the way that the lead and backup vocals go back and forth with each other.
